We hope you have brought your imagination hats with you, as we take you into the world of the well-known author Dr Suess. This up-beat comedy musical is based on the well known children’s books such as: ‘Horton hears a Who’, The Cat in the hat’ and ‘Gertrude McFuzz’. The next half an hour will have you bobbing in your seats, smiling from ear to ear, whilst transporting you into a world you won’t want to leave.
This is my first time working with Young Actors Group, and I hope it won’t be my last. This term, of course, has come with challenges, but the group have faced them head first and overcome them with great ease. I have gifted them with some challenging choreography this term, but they have absolutely smashed it out the park.
In the musical there are some wacky characters such as: A talking Cat, the Mayor and Mayoress of Whoville and even mischievous singing monkeys. As you can imagine, these characters require a lot of thought and work, the children have all engaged and thrived in making these characters their own! They have pushed themselves, and worked as a tight team to create the unique world of Suess.
This group has been such fun to work with! It has been a pleasure seeing them build and grow into their characters and I can’t wait to work with them again in the near future.
I hope they have enjoyed bringing the world of Suess to life as much as I have, I can’t wait to show their success with an audience.
Enjoy the show!
