What if you could travel through time and across universes to fix the mistakes that destroyed the world?
In Survival, Greta is a teenager carrying an impossible secret: in trying to change the past, she accidentally wiped out the human race. Now she travels through the multiverse searching for ways to repair the damage she caused.
Alongside Felix, a bewildered teenager pulled from 2026, Greta journeys through a series of collapsing worlds: a pandemic-ravaged society, a zombie apocalypse, a future where AI farms humans like livestock, and a bunker after nuclear war. In each universe, small choices determine whether humanity survives or disappears.
Blending science fiction, humour and imagination, Survival explores responsibility, courage and the power of one decision to change everything. Across shifting worlds and timelines, the story reminds us that even in the darkest futures, survival depends on cooperation, hope and the bravery to try again.
This production has been created as an ensemble performance, with actors multi-rolling across different worlds, characters and even universes. Throughout rehearsals the cast explored how physicality, voice and intention transform a character, allowing them to move quickly between roles.
We worked on identifying each character’s wants and needs, using these motivations to drive action and shape relationships on stage. The group also focused on projection and vocal clarity, learning how to communicate clearly with an audience while remaining truthful in the moment.
Through blocking and spatial storytelling, the actors explored how movement, levels and stage pictures help tell the story and how to share focus as an ensemble.
Drawing on ideas from Laban, Lecoq and status work, the performers developed strong physical storytelling and presence. They also explored the idea of the fourth wall, understanding when the world of the play exists privately between the characters and when the audience becomes part of the experience.
The result is a group of fantastic performers working together to bring multiple worlds to life on stage.
Enjoy the show!
