Let us take you into a magical journey, ‘Under the Sea’!

On the far shores of Cornwall, there have been many sightings of mermaids and stories of fishermen who have been rescued mysteriously. But only a few are true believers!

The twins, Ruby and Sapphire, live with their annoying little sister, Pearl. When their mother is working, they must begrudgingly look after Pearl. However, one day at the beach, after finding a mermaid’s comb, their lives are changed forever!

As a thanks for returning her comb, Izadora, an adventurous mermaid, magically transports them under the sea. There, in an enchanting wonderland, they meet Izadora’s father, King Neptune, the very kind Mrs Octopus and of course, Pinchy, the cheeky crab!

Adventures await them all!

Last term we explored real life characters and situations whereas this term we decided to focus on fantasy and to give the group the challenge of playing characters that they have not played before.

The group have chosen their own music and have been part of the directing process. We have also worked on staging, projection, characterisation, expression, pace and humour.

The young actors are a small group but with big ideas and are fabulous to work with. They are never afraid to try something out and always willing to give new ideas (sometimes silly) a go!

I really hope they have enjoyed the challenge and that you enjoy watching their work come to life.
