Step right up and witness the greatest show on Earth, at least, that’s what the audience is meant to believe.Welcome to the Circus takes you behind the scenes of a struggling traveling show, where performers juggle more than just their acts.

Meet Lord George, the ruthless ringmaster who runs his troupe with an iron fist, and Felicia, his sharp-witted assistant who has finally had enough. Lord George’s circus is a marvel of daring feats and eccentric performers, but behind the laughter and applause, tensions run high. When the ringmaster is shot during a blackout, the big top turns into a crime scene. Was it an accident, or did one of the performers finally take revenge? A detective disguised as a clown is on a mission to uncover the truth. From feuding trapeze artists to an ambitious human cannonball, everyone’s a suspect—but with so many motives and secrets, will he find the real culprit before the final curtain falls?

A thrilling mix of mystery, humour, and circus spectacle, Welcome to the Circus takes you on a journey of resilience, rebellion, and the fight for freedom. After all, the show must go on… or must it?

The students were eager to take on a murder mystery this term, and setting it in a circus gave them the chance to embody real-life performers while tackling their real-world struggles, all within a fictional story.

I’ve been incredibly impressed with this group. Welcome to the Circus is a fast-paced ensemble piece with many moving parts, and the biggest challenge has been transitioning swiftly between scenes. But without a doubt, the toughest test has been keeping still when it isn’t their turn to speak! It’s one thing to deliver lines, but listening for those subtle cues takes real discipline.

I really hope they have enjoyed the challenge and that you enjoy our inspired by true events show.
